COURSE CONTENT

A Spill Awareness DVD to introduce the subject, covering relevant environmental issues with spills, reasons for spill control, legislation, procedures and emergency response action plans.

Coverage of the products available for storage, handling and dispensing of liquids as well as sorbent products for containing and dealing with spills and personal safety issues.

Detailed discussion of the principles of Best Practice with liquid storage, drain protection, legislation covering storage and handling of liquids including the penalties associated with breaches.

Demonstration of relevant products including sorbents to British Standards, emergency spill kits and ready use dispensing stations.

Simulated Spill exercise conducted in a suitable outside location.

Final Test covering all aspects raised in the course.

Summary and Final Discussion.
